Tri795 online registration will open on 1st March.
Fees – €30 individual entry, €50 relay team entry
IMPORTANT: Triathlon Ireland requires that all non Triathlon Ireland members must purchase a one day race licence to participate in all Triathlon Ireland sanctioned events. For Tri795 this licence may be purchased at this link before 29th July 2010. If you do not possess a Triathlon Ireland one day licence OR a valid Triathlon Ireland membership card you will not be allowed to participate on race day.

The course has been decided for Tri795:
Swim:
The swim is a 500m swim in Bunclody’s 25m outdoor pool. Swimmers of similar abilities will be swimming together. The transition area will be the Tennis court just outside the pool.
Cycle:
The cycle will take competitors out of the pool carpark and left onto the N80 (towards Carlow), proceeding then left off the N80 on a loop through Kildavin and Clonegal and returning onto the N80 for a nice straight cycle back to transition. Cycle course map.
Run:
The run route is a simple out-and-back, up the N80 again, turning left up Deerpark to a turnaround point then a straight run to the finish. Run course map.

We are running a duathlon on Sunday the 21st of February for a bit of fun. All are welcome, members and non-members. The start will be at 10am sharp, at Spellman Park GAA grounds in Kildavin. Barry will be setting up a state-of-the-art transition area as a practice run for Tri795. The race will incorporate a gentle 3km run, a 20km bike and a 3km sprint to the finish. See you all Sunday!

Congratulations to Siobhan Mimnagh, our first ever Time Trial League Champion.

Siobhan had a healthy points lead going into today’s final round having improved consistently throughout the series. However, it wasn’t all plain sailing on the day as mechanical difficulties threatened to scupper Siobhan’s ambitions. However, our champion rose to the challenge and did just enough to get home and finish the series ahead of the chasing pack.
The winner on the the day was Paul Hutton, coming out on top with best gross and handicap times.
Overall the series has been a great success, providing a focal point for members over the winter months, both socially and competitively. Credit is due to all who took part and did timing and marshalling. Special thanks on everyone’s behalf to David Furlong who came up with the idea and made it happen.
